I've been following the blog of Daniella Witte lately, (do you know of it/her?) and I notice that she likes to use plants and foliage quite a lot around her mainly monochrome home, even some branches appear in her styling. I like the way she uses the plants and branches to add varying heights for the eyes to rest on around the room, it really adds interest.
A few days ago I had a little swap around of things in my own living room to freshen it up, but one of the corners of the room looked a little bare, we have quite high ceilings and it just needed that extra something there. Today while out buying some daffodils, I spotted a bundle of what I can only describe as knobbly twigs, I think they are from a hazel tree but I'm not sure, the man did tell me but I can't remember (memory like a sieve) anyway I placed them in a large glass vase that I have and arranged them in the corner (my photos don't really show them off to the best) I really like the way the branches are all wonky and knobberly adding drama and that welcome height to the corner that was needed.
I luv styling homes (incl mine) with branches and foliage, perhaps a bit tooooo much that hubby can usually spot me eyeing a branch on the ground which he then usually saya "step away from the tree branch"! ;)
